We fish for king salmon and silver salmon throughout the summer months. However, the fishing doesn’t stop when summer ends. The waters around Homer offer what locals have known for years-some of the best king salmon fishing of the year. Referred to as feeder kings, these fish are the highest eating quality found. Starting in September, fish these incredible kings throughout the coldest days of winter in the comfort of a heated cabin. Truly and Alaskan experience, my favorite! Don’t let the calendar fool you. Winter is a great time to get out of the cabin and head to Homer.
