Starting in April the Kings and Halibut start moving in from the deep waters in large numbers. King Salmon up to 70 or more pounds run till mid June. Halibut are always found through out the year but the best fishing is from April through September. Remember these giants can tip the scales at well over 300lbs. Rockfish such as Greenling, Yellow Eye, and Black Bass are outstanding game fish. Ling Cod up to 60lbs or more are also very common. They are a must for the mid-western walleye fishermen. Silver Salmon (Coho) begin to arrive in July and the heavy runs last till September. Remember I'll do all the filleting at no cost to you.
Fishing these waters offers anglers vast opportunities. When you are ready to plan your trip I'll give you some suggestions to assist you when booking your adventure. Salmon are like relatives, you never know exactly when they will show up or leave.
- Kings (Chinook) - Available year round, the larger runs begin late April and last until mid July.

Homer is a very mild climate comparable to the upper mid west in summer. I'd suggest when you pack for your trip to keep it simple. Remember I provide every thing for fishing on board the boat. Try to travel light, don't over pack. If you should leave anything behind, it can easily be purchased in town. My point here is that very often people have a lot more to take home than what they have arrived with, such as fish and souvenirs. The airlines only allow for so much weight, so I would pack a few of my possessions in a cooler.
- A clear mind and a positive attitude. (remember, you're on vacation)
- A camera. (bring lots of film or media cards)
- Old tennies or deck shoes for the boat, at times there is blood on the deck.
- Hooded sweat shirts. (I'll be offering some 4 sale)
- Light rain proof spring jacket. (because it's often cool out on the water)
- Cell phones work up here too!!
- A sack lunch for the boat.
